The Third Side Rule is one of the most important concepts to know for the GRE. This rule states that in order to find two angles, you need three points. It may seem confusing at first, but once you understand how it works, you will be able to solve problems with ease. In this blog post, we will discuss what the Third Side Rule is and how to use it to solve problems on the GRE exam!

The Third Side Rule is a geometric rule that states that in order to find two angles, you need three points. This rule is important to know for the GRE exam because many of the questions will require you to use it in order to solve problems. The Third Side Rule is also known as the Law of Sines.

In order to use the Third Side Rule, you must first identify all of the sides and angles of the triangle. Once you have done this, you can then use the Third Side Rule to find the missing side or angle.

To use the Third Side Rule, you will need to use the following formula:

a/sin(A) = b/sin(B) = c/sin(C)

Where:

a = length of side A

b = length of side B

c = length of side C

A = angle opposite of side a

B = angle opposite of side b

C = angle opposite of side c

Once you have the formula, you can then plug in the values for the sides and angles that you know. From there, you will be able to solve for the missing side or angle.

Let’s take a look at an example to see how this works.

Example:

Find angle B in the triangle below:

Side A is 6 cm long

Side B is 8 cm long

Side C is 10 cm long

In this example, we are given the lengths of all three sides. This means that we can solve for angle B using the Third Side Rule. We plug in the values into the formula and solve for B:

6/sin(B) = 8/sin(A)

6/sin(B) = 10/sin(C)

From there, we can solve for angle B:

sin(B) = (8/10)*sin(C)

B = arcsin((8/10)*sin(C))

Thus, angle B is equal to arcsin((8/10)*sin(C)).

As you can see from this example, the Third Side Rule is a helpful tool to use when solving problems on the GRE exam. Be sure to review this rule and practice using it before taking the exam!
