Every Battlefield game is different, but people will pick up on one class that they like and stick with it most of the time. Each game has its own unique set of weapons and gadgets to choose from, which makes for many combinations. However, some loadouts work better than others in each specific game mode.

Here is an overview of the best loadouts available for each specific class in Battlefield 2042

Assault – The assault class is mainly used for taking down other players while taking little damage yourself. If you are playing the Assault class, you should stick to Shotguns, Submachine Guns, and Combat Rifles. Those are all of the weapons that fit in this category because they do decent damage while staying accurate to medium range. When it comes to gadgets, you should focus on Anti-Personnel Mines and Flashes since most people will never try to look for mines, and a good flash will blind them long enough to get a kill.

The best loadouts for the Assault class are:

Shotgun/Combat Rifle – Your main weapon should be the shotgun so you can quickly deal with nearby enemies. When it comes to secondary weapons, any medium-range rifle will do. I recommend the combat rifle because of its decent damage and high fire rate. It’s also quite accurate at medium range.

Flechette Shotgun/Anti-Vehicle Combat Rifle – This loadout is meant for taking down tanks. The secondary weapon, in this case, should be the anti-vehicle combat rifle, but you can also stack on some extra damage by bringing along Anti-Personnel Mines and Flashes to quickly take out foot soldiers who are unfortunate enough to get near your tank. Keep in mind that when you’re in a tank, grenades will do double their regular damage, so they’ll kill most things with one grenade. Medic – For this class, you want to focus on the ability to heal yourself or others quickly while staying relatively safe from enemy fire. Your main weapon should be a light machine gun since it has high accuracy at long range and can do decent damage. Your secondary weapon should be a medium-range rifle for self-defense. For Gadgets, you want to keep Anti-Personnel Mines and Flashes, with Anti-personnel mines coming in handy when people get the drop on you and flash grenades thrown by enemies who slip past your watchful eye.

The best loadouts for this class are:

LMG/Sniper Rifle – This combination works well because long-range damage is often underestimated in Battlefield 2042. The sniper rifle should always have a spot in the medic’s weapons since it does good damage while taking out snipers without too much trouble. The LMG will help defend against rushing players, so you don’t get taken out while trying to heal yourself or others

LMG/Anti Vehicle Combat Rifle – This is another loadout meant for taking out tanks. You have a decent weapon to take out the tanks from long range and Anti-Personnel Mines at your disposal so you can defend yourself from infantry as well.

Engineer – Engineers are more of a support class that isn’t going to do as much damage as other classes. Your main weapon should always be a light machine gun since it has good accuracy and a high fire rate, allowing you to spray down on enemy combatants who try to flank your allies. The secondary weapon should be a medium-ranged rifle, which will help you hold back enemies from rushing your allies with close-range weapons or grenades. For grenades, I suggest keeping Flashes and Anti-Vehicle Grenades. A flash will help force enemies off of their aim after getting close to you, and Anti Vehicle grenades are great for taking out tanks.

The best loadouts for this class are:

LMG/SMG – This combination works well as a support class. The light machine gun will mop up enemies from afar, while the submachine gun doesn’t have as long of a range but does good damage at close range, giving you better chances of survival. A great tactic is to use the SMG during an assault and change it out for a long-ranged rifle when defending against a tank.

LMG/Anti Vehicle Combat Rifle – Similar to the Assault’s loadout, this is another means of taking down tanks with relative ease. It only takes around 5 shots from the anti-vehicle combat rifle to take out a tank, making it easier if your team lacks snipers or other anti-vehicle weapons.

Support – This class is meant to take out tanks and lay down suppressive fire on enemies trying to flank your allies. For this reason, you want weapons that can shoot either medium-range or long-range targets with high accuracy. The recommended secondary weapon is a medium ranged rifle, but if you feel sniping isn’t getting the job done, you can exchange it for an LMG or Sniper Rifle. For grenades, I recommend keeping Flashes, though Anti Personnel Mines would be good as well since they’re better at close range.

The best loadouts for this class are:

Sniper Rifle/SMG – This combination gives you everything you need to deal with tanks and out infantry attempting to flank your friends. You’ll be able to take care of most tanks with 1 – 2 shots from the sniper rifle and any infantry flanking; you will be no match for your close-range SMG.

Sniper Rifle/LMG – This is a great all-around loadout allowing you to fight at almost any range. The LMG does decent damage and can suppress enemies long enough for your allies to kill them, while the sniper rifle gives you good ranged damage if they attempt to flank your team or snipe at you from afar.

Ammo Pack – Ammo Packs, are one of the best support classes that aren’t snipers, providing less damage than snipers but more accuracy and fire rate than other support classes. They also come equipped with either a medium or long-range rifle to take out any infantry or tanks that get too close. They’re also the only support class with access to grenades, making them a force to be reckoned with.

The best loadouts for this class are:

Rifle/Medium Range Rifle – This combination gives you accuracy and fire rate at all ranges of combat, whether it’s at mid-range, short-range against rushing players or snipers, medium-range against tanks, or snipers, or long-range against other rifles. The main drawback is the lack of damage per shot, making it really difficult to take out an enemy tank on your own without dying in between reloads.

Rifle/Sniper Rifle – This loadout sacrifices some and fire rate for high damage and mobility. The high damage will make enemy infantry and tanks short work, but it’ll be exponentially harder to use against snipers since you don’t have the same range as the medium ranged rifle.

Rifle/Anti-Armor Combat Pistol – This loadout allows you to kill enemy infantry and tanks pretty well, having access to good medium and long-ranged firepower. Like other combat pistols, your anti-tank capabilities are somewhat mitigated because it only takes two shots from an anti-armor combat pistol to take down a tank instead of one shot from other weapons (compared with most rifles).

Rifle/Sniper Rifle/Grenades – This loadout is for people who like using grenades. With 4 grenades in your belt, you can afford to exchange some of your anti-tank firepower for better anti-infantry capabilities. This combination is best if your team doesn’t have too many anti-tank options and needs more grenades to help keep back enemy flanks.

Rifle/Medium Range Rifle/Grenades – Similar to the above loadout, except that this variation minimizes how much you give up for having high damage since you get an extra grenade compared with the previous loadout. The main sacrifice here is accuracy at long range, but it’s still good enough to take care of tanks pretty well.
