England vs West Indies

England and West Indies are two famous world cricket teams that have taken part in the T20I in 2023. It is their fifth T20I against each other. The ODI and T20I series between England and West Indies started on 3rd December 2023 and its end date is 22nd December 2023. The first England vs West Indies match occurred at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, on December 3. The second series was played on the 6th at the same place, the second ODI of these teams.

On December 9, 2023, the 3rd ODI was played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. On the other hand, these teams played 1st, 2nd, and 3rd T20I at National Cricket Stadium, St George’s Grenada.

Details of the previous matches

In the ODI and T20I series 2023, England and West Indies played three ODIs and 5 T20Is.  In the first ODI series, West Indies showed its efficiency and won by four wickets, while England won the second ODI match by six.

In the 3rd ODI, West Indies won the match and showed its efficiency by four wickets. The match began later than scheduled, resulting in a reduction to a 43-over game. Rain interrupted the England innings, shortening it further to 40 overs.

Another spell of rainfall before the Windies’ chase meant they had 34 overs to pursue a target of 188 runs. In the first T20I, the West Indies won the match, but England asserted its dominance during the initial ten overs.

However, the 16th and 17th overs saw Livingstone and Mills conceding 16 runs each, essentially sealing the outcome. This historic ground witnessed West Indies clinching the ODI series victory, and they’ve kicked off the T20I segment triumphantly at the same venue.

The West Indies team holds a solid 2-0 lead, setting a promising tone for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup in similar conditions. West Indies have established themselves as formidable opponents.

In a 2nd T20I, West Indies struggled at 54 for four until King and Powell’s partnership rescued them from a precarious situation. Their late surge propelled the team beyond the 170-run mark, securing a victory in style.

In the 3rd T20I, England broke its silence by tracking down 223.  Although it was not easy for them, they successfully managed it and won the game. In the 4th T20I, England made 2-2 and created another history with a wide chase.

England amassed a colossal total of 267, led by Salt’s century at the forefront. Buttler and Livingstone complemented the innings with their half-centuries, supporting Salt’s remarkable performance.
