GATE 2021 was conducted by IIT Bombay. A total of 8,82,684 students appeared in the exam. In the GATE Exam, IIT Bombay introduced the two new papers in 2021 ES (Environmental Science and Engineering) and XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics / English / Linguistics / Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology, raising the total number of papers to 27. The syllabi for all subject papers were revised. The exam pattern remained the same as the previous year. No other significant changes were made. The passing percentage was 17.82% of the total students who appeared qualified for the exam.

The exam authority allows candidates to submit objections against the released answer keys. Candidates can submit their objections if they have appropriate representation. In GATE 2021, the date to raise objections was from 2 to 4 March, with a processing fee of INR 500 for each objection raised.

- Click on the GOAPS portal login window
- Enter your credentials like the enrollment ID and password
- Click on login
- Once you have successfully logged in, a new page will appear on the screen showing the answer key
- Click on it and through the official answer key of GATE 2021
- You can download the document from there
- Printout option of the answer key is also available

The GATE 2021 was a computer-based test (CBT). The question paper consists of mainly objective-type questions in three major patterns – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. GATE Exam Pattern changes for each paper depending on the segments and the marks division. However, General Aptitude (GA) is one section that is common in all GATE papers. The GA section comprises 15% of the weightage. The marking scheme is different for all the sections. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answer on MCQs questions, while the MSQs and NAT questions did not have any negative marking.
